Starting School & Further Transitions
Starting school can be a stressful time for both pupils and their families. We try to make the experience positive and easy. Depending on your child's age there are different ways of being admitted to Ashbury Meadow.
If your child is pre school age and wanting to attend our nursery for 3-4 year olds, please fill in a form at the office, you will need to bring in your child's birth certificate. When a place becomes available you will be contacted by school.
Children wishing to join our school for reception class must fill in an admissions form, nursery pupils do not have automatic admission and must also fill in this form. This form can be downloaded from Manchester Admissions or contact Customer contact centre on 0161 245 7166. It is the Local Authority NOT the school who process admissions for pupils of school age. You will be contacted by the local authority NOT school when a place becomes available. If you have any problems you must contact the local authority as the school is not responsible for admissions.
Please see our transition and EYFS policies for information regarding the gradual transition into reception.
Moving through school: Pupils experience transitions throughout school as they move through each day and then again, as they move into new year groups. As a Nurture School we support both micro and macro transitions, to enable all pupils to thrive. Please see our transition policy below for further information.
