Homework and reading

Homework is given out on a Friday and is expected to be returned to school by the following Tuesday. Your child's homework will consolidate maths and literacy work

Home reading books are changed once a week, so we appreciate it if reading books and reading records are sent in daily. You can comment how your child is reading at home or about the reading book in their reading record.

The children take part in guided reading daily: when they read with adults and do reading activities to develop their comprehension and phonic knowledge.

Other activities to improve your child's reading are sharing books from home or going to look at books in the library.
