Year 4 2019 - 2020

Miss Kerrison

Welcome to Year 4!

Dear parents and carers,

As you will be aware, school is temporarily closed. During our school closure we are dedicated to continuing to provide a quality education for your children.

Each day, we will be setting tasks which can be accessed from 9am with your given log in details via our school website. These tasks can be selected and downloaded using the link on the right hand side of the page. Your child should type their replies/answers into the box provided and submit their work daily so it can be checked.

In addition to this, we expect your child to complete 10 minutes of TimesTable Rockstars and 20 minutes of Lexia every day. Please ensure your child takes regular breaks between the activities they complete.

Fitness and Wellbeing

It is important that your child remains active while not at school. Visit the link below to access a 'Kids Workout' video by Joe Wicks, posted at 9am daily.

Other great websites for fitness activities to join in with are below:

Reading

Enjoy listening to a great story each day, read out loud to your child on the below websites:

https://www.audible.co.uk/

https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

Or view online books to match your interests for free at

https://readon.myon.co.uk/library/browse.html

Music

https://www.myhubdigital.org.uk/yumu

Your child has their own log in for this which you will have recieved in an email. You’ll then be able to see your child’s ‘assignment’ that has been set. You will see that there are around 6 steps in a unit. Please complete 1 step a week so that the unit lasts for 6 weeks. This is how we would complete a music unit in school. In each step there is a series of 5/6 different activities to follow.

Art

Visit the below websites to see great Art projects your child can do while at home:

https://www.accessart.org.uk/art-resources-for-home/

We encourage parents and carers to try and adopt similar routines as if your child was in school. For example, allowing children breaks and playtime in between completing given activities.

Many thanks and take care,

Miss Kerrison and Mr Dean
