Nursery T 2019 - 2020

Miss Tate

Nursery Teacher

Hello and welcome to my class page

Mrs Roche and Miss Davies

Summer 1 & summer 2

This term we will be teaching the children through the topic of ‘Traditional stories’. During this topic we will be reading a variety of the Ladybird first favourite tales books including ‘Jack and the beanstalk’, ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’, ‘The three little pigs’,

‘The three Billy goats gruff’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and ‘The gingerbread man’.

The main focus of this topic is to develop children’s oral storytelling and awareness of stories as these tales are all very repetitive and enjoyable for the children. Any support you can give them with this at home e.g. re-read the books at bedtime, will help to support their progress in school.

We have also planned a variety of sensory and exploratory experiences for them to enjoy such as planting, baking, a teddy bears picnic and food tasting as well as much, much more.

With just one term to go before the end of the year we will continue to support and challenge the children to achieve their full potential. As mentioned in parents evening appointments and on your child’s/children’s reports a child at the end of nursery is expected to be at ‘Entering 40 -60 months’ across the 17 areas of development matters. You can see what this looks like according to the actual statements and criteria by following the below link.

We thank you for your continued support and ask that you remember/continue to log into your child’s learning journey to see their observed developments in school and next steps and welcome you to upload your own to evidence their home learning.
